In both IE 6 & 7 when an accordion panel is opened and then closed, all lower panels become detached and remain floating where they were when the panel was open. This means the accordion headings are overlaying content below. The only way to get the headings back up to their correct closed position is to mouse-over the detached headings, then they snap back up.
Interestingly, a similar or related problem occurs when autoHeight is set to false. When an upper heading is clicked open, the lower headings remain in their starting position, effectively blocking the content within the panel. By doing a mouse-over on the lower heading, it snaps into its correct open position. Of course, when that panel is closed the content disappears, but as stated above, the lower headings stay where they were until they are moused-over. I have submitted a ticket on this issue, but have had no reply. Has anyone had a similar experience, and is there a work-around for this?
