Ok,

I think I would add event handlers on the month and the year
label in the |beforeShow |event. Something like that :

beforeShow: function(){
    $(".ui-datepicker-div .ui-datepicker-month").click(...);
    $(".ui-datepicker-div .ui-datepicker-year").click(...);
    },

with convinient stylesheet to show that labels are "clickables".

what do you think about that "half-solution"? I will try it and
tell you back if there is something wrong about-it (duplicate
event after a second display or, at the opposite, the loose of
the events on changing month or year).
