When I use the following:

  <li>
    <label for id="name">Name</label>
    <input type="text" id="name" name="name>

  </li>

The span does not behave like a span - it is not inline. It acts like a
block element and drops down to the next line. I checked the CSS is Firebug
and no matter what I changed I could not get the span to position to the
right of the input.

Any ideas?
