Hello Chuk,
I was just debugging a very similar issue and believe i was running
into it due to browser cached JSON responses.
Since the browser will cache the ajax response independently of your
page depending on header and browser settings.
Try clearing the cache on your browser or using a different browser to
see if that makes a difference.
