hi there,

just wanted to mention the initial release of EclipseShell: http://eclipse-shell.sourceforge.net/index.html

This plugin facilitates using scripting languages from Eclipse, and JRuby is one of the 3 languages already
supported.

BTW: There are screencasts for a quick overview, and JRuby is actually used in most of them
http://eclipse-shell.sourceforge.net/screencasts.html
There are already some useful "libraries" (basically just some methods/classes cobbled together):
http://eclipse-shell.sourceforge.net/scripts.html
One for accessing JMX, one for scripting Eclipse.

If you're an EclipseUser, this is the easiest way to give JRuby a spin... and it has AutoComplete and other goodies.
