I recently had gotten Ruby on Rails running on a System i (in an AIX environment called PASE. See the website that is currently running: http://www.roroni.com ). The only issue was that there was no support for the native database called DB2/400. I had checked out a DB2 adapter that IBM had developed but it was too limiting. I had added Active Scaffold and then I changed to JRuby and was hoping that I could then talk to DB2/400. So far, no luck. But I happened to see that Henrik Fjorback seems to have the same interest as I on this list.
