After doing some research I found out, that the web.xml of the new created
application did not contain the correct infos. I manually inserted a few
missing tags according to the web.xml of the default application and
restarted the admin server. Et voila! No more directory missing messages.
(JRun 3.0, NT 4 SP6a, IIS 4, JDK 1.3)

Looks like the bug I just reported.
The workaround is make sure the names of everything in the JRun config is
unique, eg servlet names are not the same as the web app dir name, service
names, etc.
Have a look at the last few messages I sent to the list for some more
details...
Maybe if we ask nicely Scott will do a helpbase entry for this yukky bug?
