I've definitely seen that; I was having problems setting up index.html
files and the like to be index files and based on recommendations from
Allaire through one of their forums, I pinpointed the problem to web.xml
getting overwritten any time I make a change. Now I have copies set aside
to copy over when it happens. I've yet to try running with permissions set
on the files to deny write access. Not sure if that'd cause a hiccup. Just
figured I'd confirm your findings.
