To support JSP, need to upgrade Dreamweaver to Dreamweaver UltraDev (have
made the transition myself). Supports JSP, ASP and CF development. As for
the Drumbeat, be concerned of rumors that Macromedia has discontinued
support for Drumbeat in favor of UltraDev. Have seen many comments on the
UltraDev lists from ex-Drumbeat users trying to make the switch.
Again note that the JSP code that is generated and the tools don't really
lend themselves to doing enterprise application development just yet...does
do very nice for basic db frontends (shopping carts, etc). Would also fit
very nicely in situations where you have a different (non-technical) user
group responsible for ui modifications.
Macromedia offers a 30-day fully-functional download of UltraDev from their
site.
