Urmila,

Thanks for the comments. From the article
(http://www.allaire.com/handlers/index.cfm?ID=17266&Method=Full&Title=JRun%2
03%2E0%20Connection%20Pooling&Cache=False):

"As for setting an initial pool size and a maximum pool size, which are
common connection pool attributes, this currently cannot be accomplished
using JRun 3.0. This feature will be added in a later release."

I can't give you any details as to when, but it is definitely a high
priority.

Thanks,

Karl Moss

Subject: anyway to set limit on max. number of database connections for
pooling?

so the pool can only grow to a specified number?
I am using JRun connection pooling - is this configurable?

I checked out the Karl Moss's connection pooling article(very informative)
on JRun site, which indicates the pool grows as large as concurrent users.
But, it would it be preferable to control the users and database
connections independent of each other in most cases.

any opinions?

thanks,
Urmila
