Hi Scott,

Ayup, my first EJB directly from OReilly.
Yes, the xml file is where it should be.
I added that line to the deploy.properties file.
Nothing of interest in default-err.log
BTW, what port should I be trying to connect on?

But the following from admin-event.log:
10/12 18:34:51 warning (ejb) No default.properties found in D:\Program
Files\Allaire\JRun\servers\default\deploy\cabin.jar
10/12 18:35:01 warning (ejb) No default.properties found in D:\Program
Files\Allaire\JRun\servers\default\deploy\cabin.jar
10/12 18:35:01 info (JRun) jrun__jvm__ejb__jarInfo2ejsp14: init
10/12 18:35:06 warning (ejb) No default.properties found in D:\Program
Files\Allaire\JRun\servers\default\deploy\cabin.jar
10/12 18:35:13 warning (ejb) No default.properties found in D:\Program

10/12 18:35:18 info (JRun) jrun__jvm__jarRedeploy2ejsp14: init
10/12 18:35:20 warning (ejb) No default.properties found in D:\Program

Those ports are control ports, nothing to do with EJB.

Looks like you are deploying the O'Reilly cabin-bean sample, is that right?
Do you have an ejb-jar.xml in the META-INF directory of that jar file?

Try redeploying after adding this property to your deploy.properties:

  ejipt.logStackTrace=true

Then look in the default-err.log and see if there's more data on the
  problem.
