So got the upgrade serial numbers from Allaire in order to
upgrade our developers version to professional on
Solaris 2.6. But suspect that once again I am having
trouble with the JMC not writing out to property files
properly. No matter how I enter the old and new serial numbers
I still show a developers version in the JMC and the event log
says it did not find a valid license key. And tried
restarting JRun servers after entering the info from the
JMC and from the command line. Also found
an empty lib/serial_number.properties file which I suspect is
where these properties should be created? If someone with
a JRun 3.0 serial number, and better if you also upgraded
from JRun 2.3.X, could X out their license numbers but
show the property file names and properties that must be
created in them, I would greatly appreciate it.
So I can try to insert my serial numbers by hand in
the proper place and format to have JRun recognize them.
Thanks,
Roger Hanke

Roger,
I am passing this on to see why this is occuring for you. I have not
encountered this issue before and I have always used the Jrun console to
register products. This week I am in training and another engineer is
taking my calls but I have emailed other individuals within the company to
see if this is a recuring issue. I will email you back when I find out
something.

Subject: FW: Allaire Order Confirmation - JRUN Software information, FYI
Brandon,
We finally got our 2 JRun 3.0 upgrade licenses and was hoping for
some hints on how to turn our developers version into a legal version
for our production servers. Used the JMC like everyone keeps
recommending.
Went to the serial tab and entered both our old 2.3.X license number and
our new upgrade serial number. Each time hit update, then restarted the
JRun servers. Each time when it starts up it says it did not find a
valid
license key. Which I believe after looking at an empty
lib/serial_number.properties
file. The manuals only seemed to talk about using the JMC. But once
again
looks like the JMC is not writing out properly to the property files.
Can you give me the correct property file entries to enter our license
info by hand? Or is there some other trick to get this done??
Thanks,
Roger Hanke
