The way we did it at our company was to have a virtual directory
from which the jsp's were served and all references to images were
to the root of the IIS web site. For example:
JRun's application mapping is set to /app, so all jsp files are
referenced /app/test.jsp
Images, etc. are referenced /images/image.gif.
The reason WE did this was because the images weren't being cached
correctly - the browser would ALWAYS reload the image when the image
references were /app/images/image.gif - somehow the JRun server was
bollixing the IIS caching causing every image to be reloaded.

This is an old thread, but has anyone made an attempt
to configure apache or something similar to not forward
requests for gif or pdf files and similar things to JRun.
JRun is not a problem per se, but we want to reduce
both network traffic and unnecessary downtime while we
restart JRun.
