It is installed as a service.  As far as SP2, there were a few posts saying
it caused problems with the JMC, etc. so I am not quite ready to install.  I
would rather just keep logged in to my server...for now.

Is your JRun server installed as a service or not. If it is not then you
must be logged in to run it. Also I remember something about a bug in sp1
regarding this problem, the solution was to get sp2. You might check the
Allaire KnowledgeBase or JRun forums at www.allaire.com. Not too much info
but I hope it helps.
