Allaire has recently discovered two issues affecting JRun Server 3.0 Service
Pack 2. These issues are currently being addressed and will be corrected in
an update to be posted by the end of the week of Feb 5, 2001. The issues are
specific to scenarios described below:
Issue 1: Unable to serve content from servers with non-U.S. locale
The first issue affects JRun servers that configured to a non-US locale. A
JRun server in this configuration cannot serve static content to a client
also configured to a non-US locale. This problem affects all static content,
including GIF, JPEG, BMP, JS, or CSS files. Applications using static
content will experience graphics missing from pages, loss of style on Web
pages and unusual client-side behavior in apps that make heavy use of JS
files. This problem makes heavily affect JRun's management console (JMC).
NOTE: This issue does not affect a client configured to a US locale, nor a
JRun server configured to a US locale serving content to a non-US locale
client.
Issue 2: JRun Server will not start when used with Microsoft JView JVM
The second issue affects users of Microsoft's JView JVM. JRun servers
configured to use this JVM will not start.
In response to the discovery of these issues, Allaire has temporarily
suspended downloads of SP2. The defects causing these issues have been
identified, fixed and are currently undergoing quality assurance testing.
The updated service pack, SP2a, will be available for download by the end of
this week. Customers who have downloaded SP2 and are not affected by these
issues may continue using SP2.
Best Regards,
JRun Product Team
