hey all...
i have JRun 3.0 SP1 installed over NES 4.1 SP4 on a Sparc Solaris 2.6
machine, Java 1.2.2_05a. Recently I have been having trouble getting
the admin server to start in a timely manner (the java command that starts the
server is taking greater than 30 minutes!). And whenever I log into the JVM server,
the left panel takes about 15 minutes to load! Some suggestions I've received and
implemented included looking for DOCTYPE tags in my web.xml files...
In addition, some time ago I noticed an error in the logs: deploy.properties: file
not found.
Indeed, neither my admin or default servers have deploy.properties files, but I'm
pretty sure
I don't really need them... Aha! I just looked at my admin-event.log, and indeed, the
latest error is
that deploy.properties is not found... is this whats causing the slowdown? Can I use
one of the
sample deploy.properties? The only thing that might be related is I did set up some
jdbc connectors
with the wizard.... when i finally did get into the jvm yesterday, all that info was
still intact...
Another thing I've noticed is that the admin server, once started, will not return me
to the
command prompt... Is it safe to CTRL-Z out of the process and close the terminal
window? Should I use bg to
send the process to the background?
Any and all ideas / suggestions appreciated, I'd like to get this setup clean before I
upgrade to SP2...
Thanks in advance!
fredo
