It appears that JRun install ignores any previously-installed JDK and JRE,
and installs these two items under the JRun directory (I'm talking Windows
NT server install), with the JRE subdirectory below the JDK subdirectory.
1. Can anyone confirm this?
2. If true, why does JRun install JDK when it's already installed elsewhere
on the machine?
3. Also, what/whose JDK is this? If it's from Sun, can anyone tell me how
to determine exactly what version it is?
Documentation from Allaire's site seems to be somewhat self-contradictory on
this subject.
As you might guess, we've spent the last week trying to unravel a spaghetti
of conflicting references in NT registry and in multiple JDK, JRE
directories since trying to upgrade. (For example, a pre-existing app that
uses a Java bean in an ActiveX control can no longer find a JDBC driver,
even though its' location has not changed.)
Any wisdom anyone can share would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
