Hey:

Our experience with the Jrun (Merant) drivers has been very frustrating. We
tried endlessly to get them to work with DB2 running under Linux. The
results were bizarre. Sometime seemingly random integers were returned as
resultsets. Other time the sql itself would be spit back in the result set.
Sometimes they worked perfectly.

Finally, we scoured the Merant site and saw that the list of supported
configurations did not include DB2 under Linux. I recommend anyone with
troubles with the Jrun drivers at least check the Merant site before wasting
as much time as we did. At that time the Allaire site and docs made no
mention of any platform limitations of the DB2 JDBC drivers that we could
find.

We switched to the IBM drivers (which incidentally don't work with Jrun's
built-in connection pooling -- we built our own connection pooling) and
everything is ok.

I think it would be great if Jrun users had full access to the Merant
patches.

Also, if anyone else has had experience with DB2 under Linux and Jrun, we
would love to hear your stories.
