Hello All,
I have been struggling to get jrun to work in a multihomed environment
on iis40 - multiple jrun servers connecting to multiple website on iis (same
ip and port, but different host header names). From what I've read so far,
Jrun is capable of handling this - I must have something setup incorrectly.
here is my setup:
iis4.0, winnt40.
i have created multiple websites on the server, on the same ip and port but
with different host header names. lets call them default website
(www.corp.com) and test web site (test.corp.com).
each of these servers has a virtual directory to the /inetpub/scripts
directory.
I have two jrun servers: default and test. I have run the connector for
default, then test and then change the jvmlist property in the jrun.ini file
(added the test server to the list "jvmlist=default, test"). I manually
changed the jrun.ini and did not use the jrunconfig utility - do I have to
use this?
the apps deployed in the default jrun server have url mappings to /myapp1,
/myapp2, etc.
the app deployed to the test jrun server have url mappings to
file://test.corp.com. this app is called testapp.
I have modified my hosts file on the my client machine so that i can resolve
the ip of the webserver to test.corp.com.
i am able to run the testapp run on the test.corp.com website and the test
jrun server.
the problem is when i run that now when i run the apps on the default web
site in the default jrun server i get an error stating stating that the jsp
file is not found. this is an allaire error message.
some additional information:
when i tried to setup the isapi filter (jrun connector) via the iis
management console for the test.corp.com web site i could not get the green
arrow. i only got the red arrow, indicating that it is not working. however,
i was able to run this app.
when i deleted the connector from the test.corp.com website, the default web
site apps worked. the way my jrun connector is setup appears to be the
problem.
question:
how should the jrun connector be setup? the instructions in the manual
indicate that one jrun.dll and jrun.ini can be used for all jrun servers,
across all websites. is this true? I have also seen some indication (forums,
jrun-talk, etc) that i can physically create a scrips directory under each
website and use the connector wizard for each jrun server, pointing to the
new scripts directory under each web site.
i've been struggling with this for a many days and hours now. any advice you
can give me will be very helpful and appreciated. i'm sure there is a way to
do this.
thanks,
tom d.
