I have set up JRun to use Custom Authentication. I use a simple class that just allows everyone to authenticate with whatever username and password, to take LDAP out of the equation for test purposes. The problem - about half the time, when I submit my login form, the browser just sits there trying to download some page or another (the IE logo keeps spinning forever). If I give it some time then try and access some pages in my application, they will then work (i.e. I got authenticated). Other times, JRun will dump me back to the login page straightaway. The problem is random and intermittent. If anyone has implemented custom authentication please share details of your configuration with me, if you have had success. Or let me know if you have had the same problem. I am using JRun 3.0SP1 and Java 1.3.
