There are a couple of things which could be happening (i've run into a lot
of them) first check the Default logs they usually pinpoint problems during
startup pretty acuratly. If you see something in the logs that appears to be
causing the server to abort start-up and are not sure what it means simply
post it here and I can probably tell you how to fix it. (I,ve crashed our
developement server so many times it's pathetic)

Subject: Default server will not stay started

I have JRun 3.0 sp2 installed with IIS4, NT4.0.

Here is my problem : the Default-server Status on the JMC indicates the
server is stopped. I can 'click' on the "start server" button and the
status changes to 'running.' However, it seems that every time I leave
this page, the server stops again - the JMC changes back to 'stopped'.

I have JRun installed as a service and the Control Panel-> services->
Jrun default server reads 'started' regardless of what the JMC says.
Stopping and Starting on the Control Panel makes no difference for
server operation. Rebooting makes no difference.

As a note, I had on OS corruption yesterday - I formatted all HD's and
reinstalled everything and by this morning JRun seemed to be working
fine. I am using an evaluation copy of JRun and maybe since I
reinstalled I am running into a security problem. I will contact JRun to
be certain on this one.

Until I hear from JRun, Has anyone experienced this or knows what may be
happening?

Thank you for your consideration,
Kendall
