> 1) Can anyone tell me the best book for learning jsp and servlets fast?

I'm not normally a fan of the "teach yourself brain surgery in 24 Hours"
series, but after looking over a number of different books, I found SAMS'
"Teach Yourself JavaServer Pages in 24 Hours" by Jose Annunziato to be quite
good. He's a computer programming professor, and it shows in the clarity
and technical detail. For someone coming from a CF background, it's a good
start.

For general Java study, I'd recommend "Java Certification: a comprehensive
primer" by Khalid Mughal. He's also a computer programming professor. This
book covers, in extremely fine detail, all the learning points required for
the first level Java certification exam ... *not* a trivial exam. Each
chapter has intermittent quizzes, and on-point exercises, which are far more
subtle and difficult than what I've found in most "teach yourself" books.
This one's quite a tome.
