You probably created a new application. After restart the admin console hangs. copy the default-app directory over your new application. Edit the web.xml to match your needs and it should work again. Overall I am quite disappointed about the admin console. If you have a standard compliant web.xml NOT generated by JRun you cant even modify the session timeout.
