Well,
You have the option of managing the connections via the server and its pool.
This works great for some environments.
It, however (and some people are very anal about this), is preferred to use
some sort of central pooling mechanism and not do a straight connections
from your page.
You basically implement a pooling class and go from there. If you're
feeling really saucy you can create your own, now that's fun.
