Looks like what's happening is the jdbc service is trying to start, and that
service depends on JRun's JNDI implementation. It seems to be finding
Weblogic's JNDI instead, which would make sense if you configured it at a
global level.
How are you configuring the initial context factory? Classpath?
$JRE_HOME/lib/jndi.properties? Hard-coded somewhere? We changed the way
that stuff works between JRun 3.0 and JRun 3.1 to make it more
J2EE-compatible.
If we can fix this, then the other problem with the jrunauth service might
go away too.

I am not trying to use JRun as an ejb container. I am using JRun as a
servlet engine and we have services written which talk to weblogic which
is
the EJB container by connecting using the t3 protocol on port 7001. What
I
can't understand is that the same code works fine on JRun3.0. After I
upgraded to 3.1, it would start the admin server but I couldn't login on
port 8000 to the admin server itself, though the solaris process list
would
show the jrun admin server to be running.
