John,

Make sure you have an entry in the PATH variable for <your JDK>\bin
directory. So, if the below path is correct, you would append this to your
PATH variable:
C:\Java\www.sun.com\j2re1.4.0_01\bin

Also, change the forward slashes to back slashes in the JAVA_HOME variable.

HTH,

Issac Rosa

Subject: Starting samples server

Hi all, Im trying to start the samples server JRun4 Windows2000, it
won't start

I found this on macromedia /known Jrun4 issues.

36578 - The samples server requires that JAVA_HOME be set to start up.
It also requires a JDK bin directory in the SYSTEM path or you will get
errors on sample server startup pointing to SERVER-INF/jrun-users.xml.
You also will not be able to log on to the compass application.

So I've set JAVA_HOME to "C:/Java/www.sun.com/j2re1.4.0_01" - my JDK path

and it still won't start...

What do they mean by
"It also requires a JDK bin directory in the SYSTEM path" ???

Please CC me directly as I'm on the digest...

Thanks Justin
