I ran this by some of the support folks, here's what came back [paraphrased]:

This usually means there is a problem with JNI interface. The problem library is 
C:\j2sdk1.4.0\jre\bin\fontmanager.dll. Maybe using jdk 1.4 beta version? Try using 
different version of the JDK. As far as we know, it's not an issue for JRun itself. 
Search for "An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM" 
on Google, lots of stuff that should help.
