Spent a few hours on this already. This is a copy of the post I put on MM.

Hi,

I knew I was getting into something when I discovered that NLB is not supported, however it has been proven before and I am recreating this in the LAB right now. Now the NLB cluster works fine. NLB I am used to. I can also grasp the fact that JRUN and NLB do not co-exist, which is fine also as a second set of NIC's for the JRUN cluster makes a lot of sense anyway.

The trick is, is that I am stuck at a point I did not expect, and I am sure there is a simple answer to this.

To cut a long story short I have disabled to NLB NIC's to leave just one network. Simple right.

I am unable to register the second server 10.152.8.6 from the primary .5. This obviously causes a lot more issues if you want to create a cluster. So that's how far I have got. A recent DEV article explaining how to configure NLB is what I am using as a base reference point. I am competent enough to take on a task like this with previous stand alone administration not being an issue.

The obscure fact is that I can connect to a tertiary server on .100 which was there before I started this project.

The only thing I can see is different is that these two servers have the latest update installed. I am loathed to try that on the third server if I lose that also.

As you can see below .6 did not connect. I have tried in both directions. Note though how I can connect to .100 from .6.

cfusion [10.152.8.100] 10.152.8.100 2902 8300 51020 Running

cfusion2 [10.152.8.6] 10.152.8.6 2902 - - Stopped

That network is 10.152.0.0/16. The NIC's are configured correctly and a further fact is that if you try this from .100 you can see that neither .5 nor .6 responds.

cfusion [10.152.8.5] 10.152.8.5 2902 - - Stopped

cfusion2 [10.152.8.6] 10.152.8.6 2902 - - Stopped

.which is sort of a relief as I thought I had destroyed .6 when I renamed the cfusion directory to cfusion2 which was not as simple as the documentation first describes.

That still does not help too much. Have started to compare a few things, but not really sure if I am looking in the right direction. Tempted to rebuild again, however I am trying to find out if there is a simple guideline to rectify the ability to connect.

Simply
What are the reasons why you would not be able to register a remote server from JRUN.

Once I have got past this, I will continue forward and feed back where I can.

Any assistance or direction appreciated. Thanks.
