Thank you for your suggestions! I was using an older version of jsch (0.1.22)
so today I tried with the newest one (0.1.40). Unfortunately this didn't solve
the problem.
Regarding Apache ant, it hasn't been used for this project yet so it might be a
bit complex to introduce it now...

Which jsch version are you trying?
If possible, please try the "scp" task of Apache ant 1.7.1.
Will you have also the similar problem in that scp task?
