Hi, Yes, that was foolish. I just thought that reading streams and then closing the channel is the default way for every channel. I forgot about quit() for sftp channel. Thanks for pointing it out. One more small observation. I am logging as an oracle user via the exec channel. I could observe that the value for the system variable PATH is different from the value that I get when I login via putty. For eg: ORACLE_HOME/bin is present for the login via putty whereas it is not present when I login through exec channel. Because of this I cannot run oracle commands such as 'exp' directly. I had write a script in which I had to modify the PATH variable. Why is this difference? Is it related to bash profile loading?
