Thanks for the quick reply.
after making the necessary changes in the code for sudo, we encountered a new problem- this time with when using su. it appears that su requires a pty in order to process the password. do you have a solution for this? It seems that when using the setPty(true) the command executes ( we know this because we can see a line in the /var/log/messages that indicates that the command was preocessed ) but the message is not sent to any open console. When omitting the setPty(true) line from the code the command executes and the message is sent to all open consoles. In the code we setPty(true) because we need it for sudo execution. As for "sudo" without "setPty(true)", please refer to http://www.jcraft.com/jsch/examples/Sudo.java.html Sincerely, -- Atsuhiko Yamanaka JCraft,Inc. 1-14-20 HONCHO AOBA-KU, SENDAI, MIYAGI 980-0014 Japan.
