I was looking around on the gateway/bridge type theme that Ki has and came across 'Toran'
*Toran* To"ran\, Torana \To"ra*na\, n. [Skr. t[=o]ra[.n]a an arch, a gate.] (Indian Arch.) A gateway, commonly of wood, but sometimes of stone, consisting of two upright pillars carrying one to three transverse lintels. It is often minutely carved with symbolic sculpture, and serves as a monumental approach to a Buddhist temple. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/toran So I suggest Apache Toran, only about 3 hits on Google as well for that actual word so ranking would be high. regards, Bradley On Wed, May 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM, Malcolm Edgar <[email protected]>wrote: > What about Apache Security > > regards Malcolm Edgar > > On Wed, May 20, 2009 at 10:35 AM, Brett Porter <[email protected]> wrote: > > Well, I was going to suggest: > > > > Apache Jaysec > > > > It is true to the original name, but sufficiently different not to cause > > confusion. > > > > However, in the Google results, I found posts saying they didn't like > JSec > > for the sound in the previous vote, which would have the same problem. > > > > It still might be worth considering, as it has such a low number of hits > on > > google (<1000), and the conflicts are all sufficiently different that it > > shouldn't cause confusion: > > - http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_hddvlh > > - gojaysec.com > > - http://jaysec.co.uk/ (only security related one, but it's CCTV). > > > > Good luck! > > > > Cheers, > > Brett > > > > On 20/05/2009, at 2:01 AM, Les Hazlewood wrote: > > > >> Hi Apache Community. > >> > >> It seems as if our recently changed name of Apache Ki is not free from > >> potential naming conflict problems, and we'll need to change our name > >> again. > >> > >> So, we're reaching out to everyone and anyone who would like to > contribute > >> a > >> new name to the suggestion pool.
