I wanted to clarify why the error collection is present. With HATEOAS / state changes, I need a way to mark the current state dirty (with some kind of history), and then throw that away when a new state is triggered. Eventually I'd like to put a listener on that object with it's own events so the collection & subsequent handling is really up to the programmer based on their requirements.
