Ok,  I'm not asking about jQuery specifically.  I was more or less wondering
it there were any glaring JavaScript no-no's.  Here is a more specific
question.  What is the best way to "monkey patch"?  Is it ever a good idea
to monkey patch, or is it better to modify the source code?
