@Trygve: thanks for your interest, i prefer your approach as the one i describe, it really cleaner, but not perfect, as you said @Evan James: the sprite method could be very fast (used by google...), but in my case, i have a full catalogue to manage, it will be difficult to maintain, and i've got SEO to optimize... @Balázs: i unfortunatly think you're right...
