UI Architect,
since 'innerHTML' is a property and not a method like 'appendChild'
you have to setup a customized property getter/setter for it.

I suggest you have a look at this Microsoft document:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd229916%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

this document gives examples on how you might want to do it for 'innerHTML'.

Remember that this will not work in IE6-7 and probably there are quirks in IE8.

This works in any other current browser including IE9.
