I haven't used classList yet, mostly due to the lack of support in some
browsers/versions, and because I've grown used to using my own wrappers.
Could you quantify "slow as hell"? Is it slow across all engines? I'm
also wondering what could have gone wrong to make a native
implementation of classList slower than manually munging className with
JS, especially when regular expressions are involved.
