First post here (though I've been lurking for a couple weeks ;-) so
I'll start off with saying Hi! to all and to thank the organizers for
providing an alternative to comp.lang.javascript

Next Tuesday I'm on a panel at the December Greater Toronto Area Linux
Users Group meeting[1]. Each of the panel members will represent
their favorite dynamic language and attempt to explain why the
language we support is the best.

I'm on the panel for Javascript. :-)

There are a couple questions on the agenda that I'd like to get more
input on from a wider base of JavaScript users. Namely:

1) Notable JavaScript based applications

This is a hard one because there are just so many apps that use JS.
TiddlyWiki is a long-time favorite of mine and sits at the top of my
list.

2) Notable and/or interesting features

Closures are at the top of my list here, but I've also included the
ubiquity of the language. Virtually every modern desktop has some
support in the form of web browsers.

3) What is your languages biggest bug, problem, or limitation

I have implementation compatibility as my answer for this one, but am
curious what others might think the biggest issue is with the
language.

There are other topics as well such as performance, scalability, and
community support. I'd be happy to discuss these further as well if
there's interest - but I'd really like to hear what this community
thinks of the three questions listed above.

All the best,
- Scott.
