Hey, that was me. Your question was about something good to exercise programming skill, and I think this is a good project for that. Whether it's worthwhile outside of being a good programming exercise is open for discussion. I haven't gotten a lot of requests for a C++ version. This is probably because most web apps are not written in C++ -- but JSON Template isn't limited to web apps. On the other hand, there seem to be a lot fewer template choices for C++, so maybe it will become popular.
