The first step is to get a list of HSC sets and what versions of sonar they
will support.

this will provide the developers of the sets a clear idea of what
modifications they might need to make in order to make the set more
universal.

For example, the Session Drummer sets I got from Chris Belle apparently work
in 32 bit versions of sonar and Session Drummer. although they do not
automatically load when using Session Drummer 64 on a Windows 64 bit system.
they will work if one manually switches to the SD3 sets. I believe that
this is due to the fact that the top level window names when using Session
Drummer 64 are something like "Session Drummer (X64)" rather than simply
"session Drummer". Knowing this fact, it might be something easy for Chris
to fix and/or the installer to do do the proper thing for the proper version
of sonar.

anyway, without a clear idea of what is working and what is not working, the
developers don't have a chance to fix the issue.

So, that would be my first suggestion: make the list.

This might not be a wise idea, removing them from the installer? If for
example your Dimension Pro sets don't work in Windows 7 but they work in XP,
then what? Just put a reference to the fact that they don't work in the
readme. We can't always just remove things to call it a fix... If we do,
then after a point Sonar will be somewhat unusable.... Ideas?

Subject: [Jsonar] HSC sets on different versions of Sonar

Hello all,
I need some feedback from all of you regarding the HSC sets in whatever
version of Sonar you are using. For example, I noticed that Dimension
Pro set does not work for me in Sonar 8.5.3 on Windows 7 64-bit.
Similarly, I get a "window mismatch" when trying to use RXP. The latter
is easily fixable but I don't want to fix until I hear from others.
Basically, I would like to remove sets that do not work from JSonar
installer and wait until someone fixes them.

Thoughts? Here is your chance to help, so please do!
Thanks,
Vic
