One thing you could do to hold your foam pannels is to put them on
industrial styrafoam pannels,
instead of gluing them,
then you could take them with you when you leave,
you can attach them with screws and big washers,
and foam wedges at the ceiling or floor will hold them in place
against the walls.

Hello everyone. I moved into a bigger place in early September and now
have
a dedicated studio/teaching room. I am looking for tips on cost effective
sound treatment. It's a very lively room, square shaped with two medium
sized windows and hardwood floor.
I need suggestions that are non destructive as I am renting. So, I can't
do
any drilling etc.
I may start by getting a large floor rug and some foam bass traps. I know
real traps and orilex make room treatment kits but they cost a pretty
penny.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Maybe I could buy stuff
at home depo or lows and cut it up... but what to use for adhesive?
Thanks,

Hi,
I also like these newer simple instrument tracks allot especially for soft
synths.

I did. I find it lots easier to create simple instrument tracks and have
them routed automatically through the audio track rather than having to
choose what type of midi track to create, what type of audio track/audio
pair to create and how the system needs to handle/route the midi. Works
good
for advanced users and maybe I will get there one day, but for now, it
works
just fine.

Someone I think andy told me to create a simple instrument track
and check the apropriate box when going into Dimension pro, and
any other soft synth for that matter.

Pete, the letter N is a Sonar keystroke.

I see that the Jsonar keystroke for turning Snap to Grid On is to hit the
letter "n". This toggles snap to grid on and off.
When I hit this keystroke, the scripts say "snap to grid on - left click
to
access properties for this control".
But when I perform a left click after hitting "n" to toggle snap to grid
on
or off, focus is put in one of the FX dialogs that I have open.
I couldn't find in the Sonar help how to open the Snap to grid properties
from the keyborad.
How is this done?
What I'm trying to do is edit some audio, but every time I cut and paste
it
seems to happen to the nearest measure rather than to where I've put my
marks.
Thanks.

I don't think that's your call bud.
Haven't you read most list rules out there now a days? Most of them
usually
don't want advertising of business, work or in your case
"classes/tutoring".
Maybe once or twice with list owners permission, but not every breath you
take. Did you get owners permission to post OT advertising?
These clowns
OK, at least I know your fire/flame throwing isn't personal to just me.
Since everybody knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that you think I am a
leaching clown, why don't you name off everybody else you think is a
leaching clown (since you just implied more than one)? Well, ok then just
imply who the other clown(s) are. Would be nicer than what you did/do to
me
most of the time.
that continuously ask questions on here expecting everything for nothing,
With most things that can be answered on list, why don't you just give it
up
and answer them? The original question of "What are the rules of going
from
balanced to unbalanced ins?" I'm sure can be answered on list. It probably
doesn't take a technical expert to understand them all. Besides, since
most
people are "smart" to you, give them the answer in a list email so it can
help the world and prove the "smart ones" wrong if you are so confident
that
they aren't so smart after all. Besides, is the reason you are on this
list
is to get more students?
then cop a tude when a gentle suggestion is made that a little tutoring
time might be better served to get
several concepts figured out that would take forever on an email list,
well, that's not unreasonable at all.
Probably not if it was done the way others on the list work their work
into
the list traffic. Besides, I really wonder how reputable a business is
when
it offers me a cracked copy of Sonar 4 or 6. Unless you have stopped that
practice since the last time we talked on the phone. Probably not.
YOu guys should be thankful that people like Phil, DJX,
and myself will take the time to answer your questions, maybe you'd
like to go answer all of them yourself if it's going to be that way.
When it comes to your answers, I'm sure most of us do go elsewhere.
So you mr. Smart, show some grace and good manners.
And be glad you have a resource like this to leech off of.
Isn't it normal to ask questions on a public list and then get answers?
"Lets take it to class" isn't going to help someone looking at the public
archives any.

Phil,
Thanks. After some searching on the web about hotkeys to use with sonar,
I
finally found the "shift+n" key combination that brings up the snap to
grid
dialog.
perhaps I'll change the keyboard help which pops up in Jsonar to say
something about hitting shift+n to bring up the snap to grid properties
dialog. Right now, the JSonar help for hitting "n" says to left click to
bring up the dialog which is mis-leading.
Thanks again.
I finally worked out my deleting issue. I think part of what was
happening
was that I had a delay on the track. although when I listened to the
selected region and it sounded like the section I wanted to delete, after
I
actually did the deletion, some of the material I was hearing outside the
selection was also being deleted. Thus I had to modify what I was
selecting
with the echo / delay turned on.
Thanks again.
