INTERSHOP Communications is seeking a experienced web developer to add to its corporate web development team. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain the web application framework. This framework will serve as the abstract layer between database connectivity and application servers of all web servers to facilitate scalibility and changes to the web sites. This framework will serve as the base for all INTERSHOP web sites, including the public sites, partner sites and intranet. It will also integrate tightly with INTERSHOP's future software releases. Experience in building portal-type web applications is a must.
Responsibilities :
- Spec and create a web application framework using Java, JSP, JDBC and XML. Framework must integrate existing legacy systems that are in various database types.
- Document/train web development teams on web framework
- Occasionally train other web teams on web technologies
- Maintain framework for optimal performance and scalability
- Work closely with the webmasters to integrate the framework
Required :
- 2+ years in web development
- BA in computer sciences or equivalent experience
- Extensive database knowledge (Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase)
- Extensive knowledge of server side scripting languages (CFML, ASP, JSP, etc)
- Knowledge of XML
- Knowledge of web site maintenance (web server, OS and network levels)
- Experience with INTERSHOP software is a bonus!
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Quick learner
