with 0.92, there is another thing to know: > ----- > On the other side, under 0.92 the situation is a bit different, I > think: the > JSP page can pass its request object via <setoncreate> (or the session > itself), so there is another way to get there without a ServletBean with > 0.92. I wasn't right on that; under 0.92 there is a special provision for that; the Bean doesn't have to be a Servlet, but it should hava a processRequest(request) method. >From the 0.92 Spec: --- The Bean is introspected to determine if a processRequest method exists. If such a method does exist, it is called. The processRequest method typically performs the dynamic content generation which may then be accessed from the JavaServer Pages file. The signature of this method is: public void processRequest(HttpServletRequest req); --- so there is no need for a Bean to extend HttpServlet in order to get init() and service(req, resp) called; put a processRequest(req) in your Bean instead, that will do; everything is much much clearer now. I really like 0.92 - it makes a lot of sense. bye, Werner =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JSP-INTEREST".
