Mahal,
I do not know if you are a resident of US or other
country with access to bookstores. Would like to
recommend to you the recent release by O'Reilley
on Java Servlets, which covers the trade-offs you
are asking about between various technology options.
Rather than ask for opinions, you might try doind
a little up front homework yourself, as most of us
have done, and then ask us again, based upon your
then 'informed' base of knowledge any questions you
still have regarding these trade-offs.
I believe many would be happy to share with you
their experiences regarding choices they made and
where the break-even point occured, but if you do
not have the basic background information, how can
you begin to understand or evaluate such information?
Maybe I am being a bit harsh here, but this is not
directed to you specifically, but to many who seem to
find these newsgroups when they first get wind of a
technology they may be interested in, and then ask
others a question like "... OK, what is it all about? ..."
This strikes me as quite unfair, that they would not
even have the courtesey to do the most basic of reading
in the publicly available resources to get a background
on the topic, but expect others to fork over hard-earned
knowledge and wisdom because they are too lazy to be
bothered with the effort.
