Gabriel,
Yes I have tried hard coding the value of CONTENTS and that does not work
for include but it does for vinclude. As for as hard coding versus dynamic,
I think it can be understood that if the spec does not say any thing and
since the spec has not been released yet, that sun should specify that it
SHOULD be dynamic. The dynamic includes makes it easy for one to setup a
base html as a template and include the appropriate bodies, as I am trying
to do.

Shah,
I am not familiar with "vinclude"?
<!--#include
> file="<%= CONTENTS %>" -->
> Where CONTENTS = myfile.jsp
have you tried hard coding CONTENTS to myfile.jsp? The
specs does not
say you can allow variables here. Then again it doesn't say
you can't
either. So like anything else with this rather incomplete
spec its left
to ones own interpretation. My interpretation and it seems
JRuns too is
that the include file must be predefined.
