Posting for Connie Weiss. Connie is having trouble getting through. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Mar 1999 15:48:42 -0800 (PST) From: Connie Weiss <connie@moxie> Subject: Re: 1.0 Spec First Quarter? To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yes, we are feverishly working on a 1.0 candidate and you should be seeing something "real soon now." For those who would like to see more input from us on this list - we will be back in force, but we know you want the specification more - so that is what we are concentrating on. It's a simple trade off and I think you'll agree that we're headed in the right direction. A lot which has already been posted is true: we want to make sure that what we put out for a 1.0 candidate will work for Sun as well as our key partners. What is NOT true is that we are holding due to any product development work on Sun's products. The JavaServer Pages specification is being developed as a part of our platform initiative; there is a "wall" between the Java Software Platform and Java Software Products groups. This was the main reason for Sun's reorganization last summer. We consider the Java Software products group a key partner, and they will receive the benefit of our work at the same time as our other partners. Hang in there, guys - it's really almost there!
