I have never been able to get a satisfactory answer out of IBM as
to what license their XML tools can be used under in an ongoing project.

I would suggest poking around at http://www.w3.org/XML, or looking
into the ECS project at java.apache.org, unless you can get a
definative answer on licensing for the XML tools at IBM (which I
agree, look great).

If you do find out something, please let me know,
