Although I have been writing software with Java, including servlets for more than 2 years, I am new to JSPs. So I am just trying to figure out Java Web Server (JWS) and JSPs. I just downloaded the trial version of JWS and started playing with it. I love books and looked around for a really good book, but I didn't find anything except the Core Web Server book (except K. Moss' and J. Hunter's servlet books, that I already have) . I am just wondering how would you compare this JSP technology with those other scripting languages that are part of solutions that Microsoft offers or that are used with Microsoft products? I mean ASPs, JScript, VBScript, Remote Script etc... Would you please comment on that? And do you think JWS is a good choice in terms of performance? I know that some other factors such as quality of the code matters much but I heard several places about sloweness of JWS. Do you agree with that? So do you really recommend to start web, e-commerce bussiness using JSPs? I guess I asked a lot. Thanks.
