Thanks John, I'll check out Apache Jserv.  At a minimum it'll be a good
starting point to see how someone has solved it.

I just checked out the distributed session support
available from Apache Jserv and it looks quite
impressive...

The down side of the current release of course
doesn't support jsp1.0 due to jsp1.0's reliance
on jsdk2.1++

But if you're going to set off to write your
own... isn't Apache Jserv a good starting point?
Then too, if it's not your mainline business to
produce this thing, the community could help
keep it moving forward.
