Hmmm, well this is a bit embarrassing......

The less said the better, but I can confirm the absolute paths DO =
indeed
work, using the following format :

        <WebApplication id=3D"ccr" mapping=3D"/ccr"
docBase=3D"c:/webpages/ccr"/>=20

Traditional PC back slashes don't seem to work, but after this effort, =

wouldn't believe anything I say :-)
